(Please be patient while picture load) Sisters I have Sisters That share the bond of femininity That share the role decreed by our creator. That have different talents, different dreams, different colors... But with one common goal, To be One with Earth Mother And provide a warm, safe haven for our families, Our life blood. | ![]() (Dorothy Kenyon and Gloria Steinem c.1970) |

I Have Sisters That share the seed of a man And yet share the same dreams for our wombs' bearings. Each grew with a different view... Only? Oldest? Youngest? Middle? But each-accepting, strong, giving, loving. And to our offspring, there is no riddle We’re just there, Doing what we do. |

I Have Fathers, Sons, and Brothers Both of birth and of the world. Who will protect me if needed. Who love with a tenacity That makes their patronizing ways acceptable. And it gives a sense of security To acknowlede those conditions. |

But.... Not the Same as... Having Sisters and Mothers Whether newly found or rediscovered, A bond, a sharing, a knowing, Someone is hurting, confused or glowing. We call or write - whose turn? |

It doesn’t matter. A word, an ear, a timeworn long distance hug, It just adds to the strength That would have been found ourselves, anyway. |

It’s funny, in our maturity, We discover we’re not alone. We all have our strengths, so similar As are our weaknesses. Our Dreams, so much alike, In spite of our different paths. Each seeking her own destiny, but Knowing the other is there, with stories to tell And the other will always care. |

I have Sisters who are my Daughters, Of my womb or of my heart. Daughters who come from others Yet, our souls not soon to part. They come to me for wisdom I for a fresh view of the world, To observe mistakes made by everyone, More help for the upcoming girls. |

To say NO For our own good reasons, To react with a tear or a grin. To love Earth Mother for All of her Seasons To Walk our Talk Again and again. And to know.... | ![]() (Woman's Sufferage pickets circa 1910) |

It’s GOOD to have Sisters, Words I never thought I’d say. A bond beyond that of blood birth A Pride that stays ever a day, To acknowledge each soul has it’s power And wisdom for those yet to come. The silence, the sighs, the smiles, tears and hugs, That make me PROUD to say... THAT I HAVE SISTERS My Love, Freda / Wakanda |
