Sept 9,2001 Been a busy few weeks, but in spite of all ,am not feeling too bad. I think the massage on my lymphs and breast are helping as the pressure/aching is not Nearly so bad as it was- in fact- some days not even there. Thanks to common sense and Juanita’s couragement! Have to figure out a way to get her words of wisdom accessable to everyone. Those glands need to be activated and opened up, in spite of what the AMA and Gov’t regulations(for American Massage Therapists) have to say about that! Plus some good old foot massage and hand massage hitting the “eliminators” help alot- sometimes I feel guilty taking the time in the tub to handle all of this- but not too much anymore. I am a very productive person- so taking some time to be well is not a luxury! And I always manage to give Frank’s back a good rub when I come to bed, so everyone is feeling better. Plus he snores less then(usually- not always.) Fires going around us still, plus new ones- so know I will need to filter the smoke out of my system. But at least I’m not in danger of losing my home or life like so many firefighters and other folks. I had to give Burton’s notice for 2 weeks- I just cannot continue at this 7 day pace- and I can make more here in 5 hours than there. No days off except a few hours here and there since June 1. Not good when you’re trying to get/stay healthy and figh a dis-ease! If I had known my business was going to go so good, I would have never commited to Burton’s. But hindsight is a marvelous thing. I just hope it continues. But when I quit McQueen’s we basically had small prospects- and no Burton’s ,so are no worse off than we were at the beginning of June. Have been finding lots of fun things to do with the Fresh veggies available to us now. And finding an organic farmer at the market makes it even better. But his fields are starting to peter out, and after these past few cool nights(40’s) I know his pick in’s will be Real Slim on Sat. Oh well! It was good while it lasted. Frank drug me- kicking and screaming (alot of work lined up)- on Saturday- out of here for a few hours. We went to Farmer’s Market- to breakfast( The Gold Ranch in Verdi-horrible- new managers- another icon of fabulous food in Reno down the drain)- and then up to Tahoe- for a tree fix and fresh, cool air fix. It was marvelous and recharged the batteries for a bit longer! Sometimes the gas and time away does miracles! Tahoe is a Beautiful lake and Someday I would like to take the paddleboat dinner/dancing tour around it- ah yes- someday....When you have time you don’t have the $- and visa versa. But it was a good few days. |
