Nov. 7, 2000 My appt. with Planned Parenthood- what Great Ladies! So gentle and caring! The exam table even has mitts on the stirrups so our footies don’t get cold! And a painting in the exam room was SO reminescent of the Mountains I SO enjoyed in Colorado and Utah, and were also very erotic in the feminine. Have to check back and find out artist. My nurse Janet was Very reassuring and calm and True to the Signs in the restroom-”We promise warm heart , warm hands, and to pay attention to YOU above your navel !" I have not had a physical in over 24 years, but that was one of the gentler, and more caring. And I thank Janet for her caring. My pap should be back in a few weeks. I am to call Reno Diagnostic to set appt. for mammo- have my “prescription” from PP, should take 2-4 weeks to get in. She did calm me on my worry for Nicci-(Fears of cancer that have been driving my daughter crazy) that my Aunt and G-mother on my father’s side and Nicci’s and and G-Mother on Her father’s side do not affect her. That's one advantage of all these clinics and the gathering of info- is that it is established that it flows down the Female line of the family. And since there was nothing on the f- side of my family, she has an improved chance. I was SO happy for Nicci - I called her and gave her the info, to relieve her mind. Also called PG and told her I didn’t know PP had these services available. (She ran a PP IN INdiana for A LOT of years)-her reaction,"People only think PP is for birth control and abortions- OUR PRIMARY work is for Womens Wellness! Well, I’m glad I finally found that out . ALL women can get HEALTH CARE there!!!! Mammograms, screenings, etc., and if you Know what your dealing with, you can have choices . (Click here to go to Planned Parenthood's Web Site.
