June 13, 2002 Needless to say it has been a tad busy here, so I haven’t had time or energy to write, I am sorry! But since my “Great Room” kitchen is done- I tend to cook more and do the dishes- I enjoy seeing my shiny ,clean new kitchen. But that takes up alot of time I used to put elsewhere. Well, Frank’s surgery was postponed from the 5th due to an emercengcy colon cancer operation, to tomorrow- the 14th. Got a call yesterday that postponed it to the 19th... we’ll see if they do it again! But at least this gives him more time to loose weight and get his system in balance. They took another blood test last week (no-fasting this time) and his cholesterol was down 40 points in 1 month! Strickly diet and nutitional supplements! I am So proud of him!! SEE IT WORKS- so maybe there’ll be some more converts to these methods! Did take the time to plant about a dozen tomato plants and peppers in pots this past week. We didn’t have the time or $ to bring in topsoil and make raised beds( the ground here is SO bad), but a few big pots full make me feel better! Kayla’s and my Gladiolas and lilies are still growing- so she will be excited next time she comes. She and Chris are on the East Coast right now- his other sister got married and Kayla was in the wedding- so he took some much earned vacation time (before he looses it) and is spending a couple of weeks there. Things are tight- but he and Nicci are meeting up with girls this weekend somewhere between both places. It should be a good visit for all. My B-day was good , Frank found a couple of Beautiful Cougar (signed and numbered) prints for me. So it was a wonderful surprise and day. Went to Farmer’s Market this afternoon- first for season. Got some veggies and fruits- but will be better next month or so. But saw some old acquaitances and met some new.. That’s what it’s all about I quess. Summer solstice will be here in a week! My how time flies when you’re having fun! It’s hard to believe it was just a year ago on the first when I started being home and working. But we’re still surviving and I’m still alive - over 1 1/2 years since finding lump! Like I told Frank then- “Don’t worry- Hell don’t want me and Heaven won’t have me- so I guess I’m stuck here!” Well, gotta go get tubby- long few days coming up- and tend to be reading way into the wee hours these days. First it was finishing rereading the Lord of the Rings Series- Now its the Jean Auel (Clan of the CaveBear) series. Had read the first 2 a few years ago- but decided to continue. Some good researched info- but mostly fantasy (and sometimes too romancy for my taste) . But a change from the other fare I read. I hope you Enjoy this too high heat- and hope the fire season doesn’t get more out of control than it already is in Colorado and So. Calif. So far we have been lucky! I am just also thankful that we get an occassional below 80’s day! |
