7/24/01 My how time flies when you’re having fun! The shop is coming along pretty good- walls are up all around and the painting is started. Frank got a ceiling fan/light and it Really makes a difference in here, even with the hi 90’s we’ve been having. Last week I made the mistake of drinking some hi-octane coffee on Tuesday AM and couldn’t sleep- so I painted a wrap around mural in my tubby room. Two corners of pine trees, two with vines and palm trees. Frank likes part of it- Chris likes it and I like it all- it’s comforting to me when I’m in the tub. And since I’m the only one who uses the tub(with the exception of Kayla, occasionally- and I Know she’ll LOVE the “jungle room”) that’s all that counts. Even though I’m Far from an artist- sometimes funky is fun! Speaking of baths- last Monday when I got home from Burton’s there was a package waiting for me from Ohio. We didn’t recognize the name- but had a sneaky suspicion that Mary had something to do with it. We opened it and out poured all these handmade soaps, plus scrubber and candles. Mary had asked a dear friend of hers- Laura- to put together a box of her goodies for me and send it. Such WONDERFUL fragrances!! And they stay with you!! Chris had his nose into them Sunday- might have to get some for him for X-mas. Such a dear lady - our Mary- Am SO Glad to have found her as a friend, actually she found us! But that’s another story. Mary has been nagging for a pic of Frank & I together- so yesterday we propped the camera up- set the timer and piped ‘em down the line- not studio quality- but definately us. Have added a Hi-Pro powder made into smoothies in the AM- I am just too bad about eating in the morning- and not alot of protein at that. Plus John told me that besides to fight cancer, older folks (I guess I fit there, eh?) need the protein to kick our brain cells into gear in the morning. Makes sense to me- I felt more alert, faster this morning. That plus the Microhydrin- seems to be keeping the energy level more constant in spite of the heat. Gave some to Chris while he was welding - in the heat- and he had same response.( longer energy level) Am still taking all the goodies- including the Homeopathic spray for “General Cancer”. That was the one my body responded to. And mostly I feel and look pretty good. I have some days that I am beat to hell- but I just look back on the previous few days- and realize (usually) why, and try to rest a little more that day. I know there is still a battle being waged inside- but it still is hard for me to take time for myself.... just not in my nature I guess. Besides- I’d rather go with my feet moving when the time comes. Well, am going to go try a recipe I saw on Emeril Live the other night- “Eggplant and Oyster Stuffed Peppers” looked so good - just have to try it. Thank goodness for the internet- as I missed 1/2 the recipe- so we printed it off the web and I’m in business! Looks like we’ll get plenty for dinner, leftovers and some for the freezer. |
