Chris saw Neurosurgeon on Wed. and was scheduled for surgery on Fri. It was has been heartbreaking to see him in SO much pain and not being able to do anything to alleviate it. The surgery went a little longer than expected- but they got all the mess from his herniated disk off of his spinal cord. And even though he will be in pain - that will progressively get less- and should be in pretty good shape in a couple of weeks. We got him home late (6:00) on Sun. with some treasured friends helping and waiting.
Blood clots arose on Monday- but after 6 hours in Emergency room- they sent him home to take aspirin. These people care so much for the people who are protecting them!!!
There has been alot of anger and frustration over the past few weeks on my part- about the care that the gang members get at Our expense- and the lack of care our police and fire people get!!
Ok- all the emergency stuff taken care of- the trip to Fla was WONDERFUL.. The flights were long- but not as bad as previous times. And if I ate 1 more piece of wonderfully fresh and prepared seafood I would sprout gills.
CS and Steve are Wonderful hosts- and have a fantastic home that reflects their happy personalities! My CS and I got in a lot of “us” time, but spent a lot of time with her boys and their wife and future wife.
And my Grand neices are so much fun- 3 different little and special personalities! And special time with my favorite brother-in-law.
I got to meet his folks which are Wonderful people. I can see where Steve gets his wonderously positive outlook on life! In spite of not a rich beginnings.
We spent time with my youngest sister- good conversation- and she has a beautiful Fla . home. and some time with her hubby and daughter, and of course some time with Mother- who lives with CS.
We walked the beach- so I thawed my toes in the ocean a bit(it was 11 degrees when I left here on Thursday AM- 80’s when I got there! ) Watched my nephew- an expert surfer- milk some waves, and collected shells for Kayla and I to make some necklaces from. Shopped for material to make the G-girls matching dresses for Easter(might be last year- Taya is getting too old to want that matching thing much longer. ) And some Fun materials to make Stevie some shirts with. It was a GOOD visit! And although this was the first Super Bowl Frank and I haven’t been together- it went well- including catching part of the game in Orlando before I shipped out- and then the pilot announcing the scores every now and then over the intercom.
I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and needed it, and it gave me more calm to handle this past week, But... It WAS good to get home- and boy, did the dogs talk to me as we came through the gates!
I tried to keep on most of my stuff while away- but skipped a little- and have been really bad this past week( haven’t been home) and am paying for it- my lymphs are REALLY hurting and so is my boob. But I HAD to be where I was! I wouldn’t let it be any other way! But tonight have got caught up on my work- and plan to hit tub and bed before 12:00 tonight.
Partially I have been up late due to worry- but feel more at ease now- so hopefully can cash in early. I am learning- you just can’t skip on the good stuff. It’s not that I don’t eat well, it’s just when you are keeping the wolf at bay you have to think more about suppliments!
Frank and I have been sharing cooking- and there is always a salad- and then some good complex carbos(beans, grains, etc.) and vegs, and protein.
But I have to be more concientious about the other stuff.
Good night Gracie.
