12/14 Was a slow morning but had lots of work to do anyway. One of those “heebyjeeby” mornings. Not feeling quite just right inside. Get those every now and again- over tired or just the battle raging inside I guess. Hope I’m not catching what Rick and customers have had. Probably not. My body is getting lots of power to fight with these days. Frank called when he got home and we decided the stuffed salmon in freezer sounded good for dinner. Called him back about 1/2 hr. later to ask him instead to get some chicken out of the freezer and start some soup, just wasn’t feeling just right and that just sounded better. About 2:30, when things were picking up I got a call from Matt Guccini from KRNV wanting to do a story on us NOW! Took me by surprise. Told him I had been working with Jana on that. He said he’d check with Jana and call me back. I called Frank (a little trouble getting through, had to page him- turns out our broadband system was out and he was trying to get service. He couldn’t get up on net to work on site). Anyway, we set up for them to interveiw us at work at 3:30. I was concerned about them coming out here, as we don’t live in the swankiest of neighborhoods, and didn’t want the interveiw to suggest we were looking for pity, sympathy or money. As it turned out, that was not a problem. We had to cancel interveiw at work due to a hot homicide story. I reassured Matt we weren’t upset, that Frank had been in that business for 25 years and we truly did understand. Ended up with them coming out here at about 7:15 and gone by eight. What a great couple of guys. Ron took great angles and both understood my above concern. I could tell Matt was tired and neither knew exactly what to think of our two critters, but Matt asked just the right questions, and even though I was beat, he got me on a roll about my site and why. Poor Guy. Somebody should’ve warned him about me. Actually Matt did know me, as he was one of the folks I had given the site address to last week (not knowing he was a reporter until later when I saw the news). After they interveiwed Frank in the tubby room-(to have pictures of his wood mosaic next to him), they packed up and told us this story would be on at 11:00, with Renee doing the commentary. What? Tonight?!! ” You bet! Oh, and your site is already linked to ours, it was this afternoon, under Alternative Medicine.” Whew! Called Chris, Jason, Rick and Rosemary. I had let John Burton know earlier what was happening, just not the air time. Connie and Greg were excited too! Frank set up to record it as he knew he wouldn’t make it until 11:00, but no way now for me to sleep. The adreniline was flowing. It was a good thing this went so fast, because if I had thought about it too long I probably would have chickened out. It’s one thing to write this diary, that’s an easy thing, but to be on TV for all the world to see... I was praying I didn’t come off as a total fool and defeat the whole cause of this site, but they really knew what they were doing. I’m be forever thankful for that. I was taken aback at the report! (Click on the link in the main Diary page to see a small excerpt from it). We were the “teaser” at the end of ER.. and were right after the main news, a headline story, even before the weather! And we got more time than the new President. Ooooweee! And they did such a Beautiful job of it! Thanks to all involved!!! I gotta get to bed! At least the tubby I took while waiting for the broadcast settled me down some. |
