Will try to catch up a little as I know I have been lax on this- too many other things going on.
The heat has been high- but got a little break last week- it went down into the 80’s. But it’s back to 98 today and for the better part of this week to come. This is normal for August (but not when we had it in June and July). The winds we’ve had all summer-still haven’t died- and am tired of trying to keep up on the fine coating of grit on everything.
Clean it and along comes the winds! Now I know how the poor settler women felt- and they had to haul their water- I don’t! Just will be glad when either the winds quit(Idoubt) or it gets cool enough to close the windows so I can scrub down the walls, wash the curtains and maybe be rid of some of the dust and pollen that clog me up so bad at night!
WE have an older computer that we keep in my shop for my writing(like now) and my bookkeeping for the shop.(then we download to disk and take it into the “big”computer and either upload to the site or print bills).
It is also where Kayla plays her learning games(in the “Girls’ Room). She started to play a few days ago and discovered most of the letters were worn off the keyboard- hell, it’s only about 8 years old- so we got a new keyboard-boy have they come down in price! $11.00 . But it also a lot easier for me as the keys don’t stick .
Business is going well, and am now running a new custom line for Scarlett LaRue- a friend’s new shop.
Also have a new website going up for Custom Tailoring- for men and women- specializing in larger women , also men’s suits and shirts and crossdressers and crossgenders.
All of the above have special needs- and I can handle them.
Have been enjoying the fruits and veggies of the local season- pigging out on fresh veggies and cantelope, peaches, etc. The good fresh stuff is doing us both good! And the dogs are thriving on their homemade food!
Can’t wait til it gets cooler so we can get into making breads again.
Have been making some soups/stews in the pressure cooker though- not to much heat or energy usage that way- and Tastes SO good! It’s either that or on the grill- which at least cuts down on pots to wash!
And black beans (turtle beans) in the pressure cooker are turning into one of our favorite things- can cook enough to last a week- with a little garlic and pepper- then have them lots of ways. Best way is with lime juice!
Am still fighting the discomfort under my arm and into my chest of the lymphs- but I just keep taking the “potions” and am now massaging them when I take a tubby- a good suggestion from Juanita. And that really makes them feel better- it relieves the pressure! Am going to get a jumprope to try to stimulate the lymphs even more(will probably fall flat on my face) but with winter coming(hopefully-someday) I will need to find a way to get some extra excercise inside. Like running back and forth between here and the house 50 times a day isn’t enough!
