First, All is well with me health wise- I am sorry I haven’t kept up on this- but have been Very busy. The new Veggie Vitamins I have been taking have seemed to help. Of course, if I ate 3 squares a day- that would help too- but I don’t. Basically I eat 2 meals with some healthy snacking- but Oh well. I still poke all the necessary potions into me- and the lump isn’t growing - so I ain’t complaining. I think it even took me less time to get over the cursed Time change than it usually does!!
I hope it has been a good spring for everyone, It has been busy here. The Rosemary are doing so- so, my lettuces are up, and the mint is hanging in there- along with the thyme. It has been colder than normal for here, and thankfully wetter. But it looks like we may get to normal temps in the next week or so.. therefore will just HAVE to spend some time watering and enjoying the wonderful sun and fresh air. Work will just have to wait a few minutes. But I won’t even Think about putting in tomatoes or peppers until June! Yet today, Kayla and I were going on about how we were going to get out our lawn chairs and relax in the shade this summer in the garden (forest) , and call to Pop-pop to fetch us a cool drink, AHHH!!! It’s fun to have imaginary games going with a 6 yr. old!!!
All the wedding dresses and present are done and waiting to be carried to Fla. at the end of the month. One of them went with Kaija, one of the Flower Girls, this past month- as they only live a few hours away in Bishop,Ca., and came up for a shopping trip and try-on. Since it fit just fine- she took it home and I’ll see the little sweetie and her Mom ,Dad & Brother in Fla. in a couple weeks. I can’t wait- as they are SUPER folks- like the Bride.
So am working on my stuff in between business. Did get the other Bride’s gown remade and delivered also. She looked awesome also- wish we could go to her wedding- but it is the day before I leave for Fla. So I KNOW there won’t be time. Have to do all the business before I leave, then get myself and home organized for a week away. Will be getting my sis, niece and another Bridesmaid fitted up - so will really enjoy the wedding parties and weekend to relax. But I know I will be fretting about and missing Frank and the critters ( and Our Sons and Kayla) while I am gone. But I think I will be busy enough to handle it. TakoNee is growing into a fine young boy dog! So far not as big as we thought he’d be- he’s about 80 lbs. at 9 months. But that’s fine with me. He has a gentle and loving spirit- just is still a pup! And right now is testing our patience with trying to find ways into the Goats pen, just to sit and visit with them. Kasha just sits out there and looks at him as if he’s really stupid- and when I call for them she just looks at the fence. It is a pain- but is really kinda funny.
Frank’s surgery on his eyelids has been rescheduled for May 19th., with the Pre-op the week before on 5/12. All this will be done in San Francisco at the VA hospital, courtesy of the VA. I want to go with him, but since it isn’t a major type of thing- and we have all these critters to take care of...plus his business and mine- I will stay here. He will only be gone for 3 days for the surgery. But at least he will be able to see over 50% better after the operation!! I’m going to miss my squinty eyed old coot. And lordy, he may be able to see what I Really look like and start looking around!!
This is going to be a Very busy month!! Hopefully Chris and I will be able to make our traditional run to Fairfield for some fresh oysters and strawberries, and we will have lots of friends over on Mother’s day to BBQ them and enjoy!! Life is best when you can live it to the fullest- and enjoy lots of smiling, laughs and good talk!
Tomorrow is May Day and the time to put up the hummingbird feeders. The little buggers will be arriving any day now- if the cooler weather hasn’t delayed their flight. Ahh- spring!
