April 30 April 30 Well, gave notice today, for a month- mainly because Rosemary is leaving next week to be gone until Memorial day. I asked Rick if I could be “laid off” , so I could collect unemployment until I could get business going. Also told him we were starting a pick-up and deliver tailoring business, and that I would gladly do the stores’- save him from having to run it across town. He’ll let me know on both after he talks to R & B. Frank was talking to Jerry- at Lakeridge Cleaners today(one of his longest customers) and Jerry is going to be giving a large quantity of his business to me- seems they’re not that thrilled with their Alts lady. Doors opening already! They want to try me out this week to see how I do. (I should worry about that?) We told them- just a few pieces at a time until June 1. I can’t work 8 hrs and come home and work another 4-8. Dummy me- I gave a months notice- not realizing May is a 5 week month! Oh well, probably will take a couple weeks to find someone AFTER they get around to putting the ad in anyway! Rosemary isn’t too happy with me leaving- but also very protective of me( as I her) and understands. But as I assured her- now we can Really have a good friendship- not based on squeezing time in when whoever was working. This was a tough day- am glad its over- And So much tailoring to do before I leave. |
